Please note: As of July 2021, PCoC is holding one weekly service at 11:00am in the Sanctuary. The service is also available via Zoom and social media. We ask all participants coming to the church to wear masks; hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances. We will observe social distancing.
The 9:00 Early Gathering: featuring performances from local musicians, a message and discussion that often draws from pastor Mark Sandlin’s blog The God Article, and time for contemplation and discussion. This Gathering is designed to meet part of our mission to provide inclusive and open-minded spaces. Communion, open to anyone, is served the first Sunday of each month.
Fellowship Time – Held in the Fellowship Hall, time for refreshments, community, and conversation.
Study Groups – See each Sunday’s Bulletin, available at the Gatherings, for details of book studies, discussion groups and more, and locations.
The 11:15 Gathering – Features congregational singing, spoken prayers, piano music, choral responses by the choir, a brief period for silent meditation, readings from the Bible, and a message by our pastor, Mark Sandlin, with a few moments for members of the congregation to respond and discuss. A lay person assists the pastor throughout each gathering. Communion, open to anyone, is served the first Sunday of each month.
Joint Services – Around once a month, we share a Joint Service comprised of both Gatherings, always at 10:00am. On these days, services are not followed by Fellowship Time or Study Groups; sometimes there’s a meal following; sometimes no other event. The upcoming 2020 Sunday Joint Services are: February 23, April 12, May 24, June 28, August 23, September 6, September 27, October 25, November 29, December 20, December 27.
Christmas Eve – We hold a 5:00pm service annually on December 24th in the Sanctuary; it’s filled with seasonal music, special guest vocalists and musicians, readings, and plenty of holiday cheer.
